Greetings from your friendly forum administration staff. As you may or may not have noticed there has been an increase in the registrations of users for this forum board that use it for the purpose of spamming various websites. Our forum moderation and administration team has done an outstanding job of finding these posts, removing them and then banning the offending poster from the forum boards. Usually this is done before any regular forum goer notices the spam on the board. Unfortunately every now and then a few slip past and are seen by the general forum population which is not something that we like to see. So in order to prevent this from happening in the future the decision has been made to moderate the posts of newly registered users on this board from this day forward. This will keep it so that the only people that typically have to see and deal with the spam are the moderators and administrators. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause new forum members but we will do our best to make it so that you don't have to wait long for your posts to be approved.
Q & A:
Q: Wait, so now we have to have all of our posts moderated? This stinks!
A: This only affects forum goers who are newly registered users. Those of you who are regular forum posters will not have your posts moderated and will be able to continue to post normally. Please note that we don't figure it will take very long before a new user becomes a regular user and as such is free from the moderation queue due to the low post limit that has been set.
Q: Why was this done?
A: To put it simply, to reduce the amount of spam forum goers may see due to the simple fact that our moderators and administrators are human. This was not a decision that was made lightly and was only done after a thought out discussion by the forum administrators and the magazine staff.
Q: How long will it take before my post is approved?
A: We will do our best to keep that amount of time as low as possible. Please keep in mind that there will be times that due to staffing constraints it will take longer than other times. We're hoping to keep it down to around an hour or less before your post is approved.
