Maximum PC

Does anyone know where I can get a vector drawing of an entire ATX backplate?

Something like this - but just a simple line drawing with measurements?


I'd prefer not to have to dig one of my rigs out of storage just to measure the backplate - I haven't yet moved my stuff into my new apartment and don't have a PC case at hand.

Hey Langer, I just ran across your PrometheusCU build; it looks great--looking forward to seeing it finished. As far as back plates, I have not been able to find a spec that covers the dimensions of the PCI slots and the spec that covers the ATX form factor is poorly dimensioned. I was able to find a model of one here:

and converted it to a format I could use, but I don't know if you want to rely on someone else’s modeling. At some point I am going to have to measure one of my old cases. When I do, I will provide a pdf (with all necessary dimensions) of the back plate I am designing for my computer chassis.
I have seen a few people asking for the same information on this forum.

Thanks a lot for that - the image you see above is actually from the Sketchup collection of the atx-backplate. But I've never used sketch-up (solidworks and inventor are my mediums) and I couldn't figure out how to export the drawing to an elevation view of the backside.

My computers are all in storage at the moment and this old promac tower that I'm using doesn't have and modelling apps on it.

I need to leave for denmark tomorrow night, and the parts I'm drawing are to be dropped off at the machine shop tomorrow morning.

So I have a bit of a time-sensitive issue here.

I plan on posting a large update for that project to coincide with the commencement of my new mod - project: Helios.

I thought that was were you got the image. I can send you a *.stp file of the the back plate by email. The file format will work with solidworks. You would have to give me your email address.

You will probably still have to remodel it before you can dimension off of it though. Sketchup does not import very well.
