Maximum PC

I have a 2.8 G PC with 256 M RAM and a Viewsonic A90f momitor. I have built-in vedio of 2D/3D graphic enhancement. I am running Window XP Home.
My problem: When playing 'Medal of Honor' and there is allot of action I am suddenly flashed out to my desktop. I still have an icon at the bottom of my screen showing the game is still active and when I click on it, it takes me back to the game but I can't do anything. I have to hit Excape and restart before I can resum action. Is this a videoor lack of memory, or a Windows problem ?

whenever you have video problems, make sure you have the proper drivers loaded.

also, make sure that your computer has adequate cooling, as overheating is a major cause of crashes and reboots.

Stop falling for that "Hit Alt+Tab" joke. It really doesn't help

From August issue of MPC:
"The first thing you should do is check for a patch for any of your games that are crashing...once you've updated your games, you need to update your videocard and chipset drivers...Outdated motherboard chipset drivers are one of the main causes of general system instability."

Once you've done all that and it still crashes "...You may have a heat issue." Look at items around your video card that would block heat, and then the video card itself before trying to blame the CPU.

And my own advice is to insure that you have the latest version of DirectX.
*I'm trying to pimp the use of the August issue of MPC as a great troubleshooting tool. In reality, these steps should be taken prior to further actions.

Some application such as MSN Messenger could be stealing focus and dropping you game to the taskbar...

Unfortunately, in my experience, MOH doesn't recover from being minimized in this fashion so it crashes and you have to start over...

Before playing games, temporarily disable any distributed computing clients and close any messaging clients or the like.

And SAVE OFTEN!
