Hi,
I'm putting together a new computer for my Dad, and I started having a weird problem today that I've never heard of before.
Yesterday, before I went to bed, everything was working fine. The only software installed up to this point was Windows XP Pro, the drivers for the VIA based motherboard, and the drivers for my video card.
Today, after I booted up, every time I hit the Space Bar a Search Results Window pops up! The only things that changed since yesterday was I added a hard drive to the system, I updated drivers for a US Robotics modem, and I installed an Epson Scanner. I can't remember if I started having the problem before, or after I installed the modem drivers, and the scanner?
Is it possible that certain keys were pressed that caused a macro, or some kind of shortcut, to be created that could be causing this?
The keyboard is brand new, and I've already confirmed that it works on other computers. I also tried uninstalling the keyboard, and then rebooting, to see if that would fix the problem.
Does anybody have any ideas on what is causing this, and more importantly, how to fix it?
Thank You,
Mark
