I built a new PC with the following:
Intel 4770k
16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro
GTX 780ti SC
Western Digital Black 1TB (which PSP x2 is installed on).
Samsung EVO Pro 250gb SSD
Windows 7 64bit

When I open PaintShop Pro x2 and tell it to browse a category (to get thumbnails in a folder) it will stop responding for up to 2-3mins. until it eventually brings up the thumbnails. After that you can tell it to browse any other folder and it will quickly display them. My old PC (Intel QX6700, 4GB RAM, Win7) was also using Windows 7 64bit and didn't have this problem. Could this be a RAM problem or something to do with Windows 64 being on the SSD while PSP is running on the WD Black drive?

I'm starting to think this is a problem with the WD Black 1TB drive. I noticed it occasionally pausing for a little longer than possible when I switch to that drive. Is it possible the SATA drivers need updated? It looks like Win 7 64bit installed the Windows drivers for it. I didn't initially install any Asus updates (Asus Z87 Sabretooth mobo) because the disc it came with was dated more current than the latest drivers. So I assumed they would be the most recent. Asus EZ Update says no updates are available as well.

Hard drives are inherently slower via two mechanisms: transfer speed and latency. Occasional pauses are normal when going from an SSD to a hard drive.

I could see that, but Paintshop Pro is on the same 1TB drive as the pictures.
