I am building a new pc and for the life of me I cannot figure out whats going on.
I bought a sabertooth 990Fx R2.0
Gladiator midtower case
I have inside the following
Thermaltake 750 watts PSU [ NOT POWERFUL ENOUGH? ]
1 TB western digital hard drive ,
1 eveo 840 250 gb SSD
16 gb Ballistic DDR3- 1333 4 gb each slot
1 Geo Force GTX 760 Video card , When I turn it on the fans and lights do not work on video card COULD THAT BE THE PROBLEM?
8 pin CPU plug in correctly { unseated and reseated quite a few times }
24 pin Power plug securely seated and same steps taken as 8 pin
Front panels installed via Q connector seated correctly
The case fans and cpu fans comes on for 2 seconds and dies cannot get it boot or power up.
I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong?

do you have the extra power plugs for the video card plugged in, it takes an 8 and a 6 pin plug. the power supply is more than enough.

is the cpu fan plugged in to the right header?

try just one stick of memory

Those video cards also usually come with a 2xMolex to PCIe converter if you don't have enough plugs.

I have tried everything except flashing bios with usb stick. I get no VGA LED does not recognize video card . I have red CPU light lit. NO HDD LED lighting up. It starts all fans spin including cpu fan but no monitor at all. I have tired with all 4 sticks 2 sticks one stick and even no sticks , Not one beep at all. Could it be case wiring is bad ? If the on buttons work why not front speaker ?

what type of CPU cooler are you using?

i recently did a knew build with a Sabertooth board..with no beeps..no post..all fans were spinning..turns out the standoffs that held my cooler master AIO water cooler were to tight causing a short in the ram.

may or not be the case in your build, but worth looking into.

Well unfortunately that means a number of things. Either the CPU wasn't installed correctly, the heatsink wasn't installed correctly, the PSU isn't working, or the BIOS on the board got hosed. If you're certain the CPU was installed fine and such and your PSU works, I would just open an RMA on the board.

Look at the compatibility list for the CPU. See if you need to flash the motherboard for it to see the cpu. The reason I mention this is because that is what I had to do in order for the CPU I am using to be seen by the Sabertooth 990FX motherboard I have.

Nasty
