As Windows 8.1 user, I was interested in the possibility of changing the default document storage location from SkyDrive to local PC. However, as many users may have found, if you have the OEM version of Windows, you don't have local security policies. Thus, if you try to run gpedit.msc or secpol.msc, you will get a "file not found" message. So far, I have not found a fix that doesn't use local security policies, and don't know that upgrading Windows to "Pro" would be worth the cost. Is there another way to set default document storage location?
Thanks,
Ron

After another search, I think I have found the answer. Open a folder window to "this PC". In the left column, under "Libraries" there should be "Documents". Select the Documents library and then at the top Library Tools click the Manage Tab. Then there is an item "Set save location." When I selected my user Documents folder and saved it, it seemed to change that to the default location, and not SkyDrive.

They are just menu apps . . . their functions are still present--registry changes--you just have to manually figure out how to add, turn on or off items or find a 3rd party menu app:

secpol try tweakuac

For gpedit, install it
