Hey all,

I just recently moved from one house to another. After arriving to my new house I set up my computer. I turned it on but my 2nd monitor wasn't working. All I get is "no signal".
I've never had this problem up til now.

I'm using:
- XFX 7870 ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150605 ) with one monitor in each DVI port
-2 monitors (the 2nd monitor has a DVI adapter)

Here are a few steps I've taken:
-I tried plugging my 2nd monitor into the 1st monitor's DVI port and it works fine. It appears that the problem is the second DVI port
-I checked cord connections
-I checked video card connection
-I checked for video card updates
-I replaced the DVI adapter on the 2nd monitor
-I restarted the computer

could the second DVI port have gone bad somehow during the move?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Tyler

You say "DVI adapter", you mean cable?

Anyway, did you also make sure in Windows that it's sending something to the second monitor?

My 2nd monitor has a VGA cable, so I have an adapter on it to allow it to plug into a DVI port on my video card.

I checked my displays on the "Control Panel" but the 2nd monitor isn't showing up there. It isnt showing up in the Catalyst Control Center either.

...?

Plug the other monitor in there. If it still doesn't work, reinstall the drivers. If that still doesn't work, then the port's probably kaput.

Now I seriously doubt the monitor is so old that it only has VGA... So you can either just run a straight up HDMI cable or get an HDMI<->DVI cable (or whatever is necessary to make that connection).

Location: Sittin' downtown at the railway station, one toke over the line.
Try the adapter in the other DVI port.

Thanks all...

Ive tried those things.
The 2nd monitor works great in the 1st monitors DVI port so it has to be a problem with the second DVI port.

Does anyone know if I can some how use my motherboards onboard video port for my second monitor(I only use the second monitor for browsing the net or watching videos online. My primary monitor is for gaming and art work)
If so, how does that work?

Thanks

Your video card has like three other ports you can try out.
