Hey guys, I have a question. My main rig dual boots between XP Home 32 bit and Win 7 Pro 64 bit. Back a couple of months ago when the GTX760s came out I swapped out a pair of GTX560s for the 760s, and that is the last hardware change I have made. Yesterday 7 Pro told me I needed to re activate due to a hardware change. It would not let me do it automatically (threw error message about hardware change), but calling the phone number worked fine, and it has been re activated. My question is why did it require that? The XP install hasn't said anything about a hardware change.

The only thing different on the machine at all is that I was troubleshooting something and I had ALL my USB devices unplugged except for the KB and mouse. I'm just worried that it will start doing this on a regular basis and it won't let me use the valid key to re activate it next time.

Thanks in advance,
atr

It's whatever Microsoft's strange algorithm for thinking Windows is on a new computer at work.

Yes, I get that part. What I don't get is that there was no hardware change when this message started popping up, except for the USB devices being unplugged.
