Hi, all.

I have a laptop connected to an external monitor. I also have a desktop, not connected to any monitors and without a keyboard or mouse. Is there any software that would allow me to remote into the desktop so that it would utilize both monitors? I would also like to be able to display the desktop on just the external monitor, if that's possible.

Ideally, this would use only free software, but that's not a deal breaker.

Any ideas?

Thank you

what os are the computers using? if they are both windows 7 then remote desktop is built in, you just have to enable it on the desktop, you can keep the remote session full screen on the secondary monitor and control it from the laptop.

The laptop is Windows 8 and the desktop is Windows 7.

Would remote desktop be able to span both monitors?

TeamViewer is really good for this, and I found it better than Microsoft's solution. And best of all, you can use pretty much any internet connected device.

Just be sure to setup an account. Makes it easier to remote-in.

No, if you are wanting to use both your monitors for the remote session you would need to go another route. ive never used teamviewer but i believe it can span monitors.
