So about 2 weeks ago t-bird stopped accessing gmail. I have tried the help at mozilla and google and cant get anywhere. I have deleted and reset up the account and now I get an invalid server certificate. I have gmail on my S3, and can get it there fine. I have had this setup for 2 years just fine, and now all of sudden it doesn't work. I would really like to have my gmail back on my pc as I have been using both the laptop and mobile device(DX before S3) just fine for 2 yrs and it's sometimes much easier for me to pound out a long email on the lappy than the phone...

Ok so I did some more poking around and found that others are having problems with gmail thunderbird and avast. I temp shut off avast and my gmail worked. What gives? This wasn't like this 2 weeks ago when I reloaded everything on this laptop after getting it back from repair(another story). I switched to avast from avg as Maximum PC said it was the best free av out there. Is there a fix for this, or do I need to find another free av program?
