MSI H61M-P31/W8 mobo
Celeron G1610 CPU

I can get into the BIOS and change settings but when I select to boot from DVD with a Win7 disk in, monitor freaks out, flashes, after a while monitor says out of range and system shuts down.

Tried different monitor with different cables- reset BIOS to factory- re-gooped and reseated the CPU - checked under board for shorts- tried a different PSU- different RAM. To no avail

Do you guys think I should RMA the board or the CPU?

PS: I just built 9 of these with the same parts- other 8 work just fine.

It says in the specs that:

Quote:
MSI Reminds You...
• VGA, DVI ports can only work with CPUs with GPUs core inside.

Does your cpu have a gpu included in its core...if not, this setup won't work and you will have to use a video card.

Board Specs:

Nasty

If you built 8 of these with the same exact specs, I would RMA the motherboard.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing since I've never had a DOA CPU before.

Thx for your opinion.

I would have used one of the other working systems to figure out what was the bad part.
