Have a PC that I have my mother using. She has downloaded a game that was loaded with something. If I try to go to AVG website it closes the web browser and opens something its calling itself XP scanner. Im able to download malewarbytes but when I try to install it, it does the same thing, closes the installer and starts to run this fake scanner. I've tried downloading and installing in safe mode and still have the same issues. Any help appreciated...

You can install Malwarebytes on a thumbdisk and run it from there. I'm not sure if you can do the same thing with a virus scanner.

I am at her house and have nothing with me. Any recommended programs that I can burn to disk and allow it to boot from that disk and run that way?

Did you go into safe mode and try running Malwarebytes from there?

Try running Smitfraudfix and Combofix while in safe mode with networking. If they both run and find virii, run Malwatebytes after updating it first.

Then while still in safe mode install Ccleaner and run the registery section of the program to clean out the registry after running everything else.

For good measure boot to and run Kaspersky like LatiosXT suggested.
