I fired up an old pc I have to see if it still worked. It would not boot saying no keyboard. I had a usb keyboard plugged in but the original was a ps2 with an adapter going to a 5pin din plug. I used adapters to go from usb to din but am wondering if there is a difference other than the plugs between the keyboards that would be causing the trouble and if I scrounged up a ps2 keyboard if that might work.
Any info will be appreciated
Thanx

DIN connector implies this computer is at least 20 years old. Whoa nelly!

A PS/2 keyboard with a converter is probably your best shot. Though I'm sure a USB -> PS/2 -> DIN5 might work, considering electrically the signals are the same.

Thanx for the speedy answer, the pc was built in 1997, so you are pretty close. It was working fine 4 years ago but as i said it had a ps2 keyboard. I think I will get another and try it out. The setup I had going from usb to din makes to many connectors but thought id try it, but am not if there is something in a ps2 keyboard that is different.
Thanx again

I used to have a local thrift store that had old keyboards for a dollar or so.
