 Post subject: system keeps rebooting

I recently re-installed windows xp on my second hard drive, now everytime it goes into the energy-saving mode, my system reboots..any suggestions??

Does it reboot when you say hit a key on the keyboard or move the mouse to bring it out? or is it falling all the way into a hibrinate mode and then rebooting?

Also, post your computer's specs. You might have a power problem or some type of funky RAM issue that's not letting you store all you need to for hibernation.

it doesnt reboot if i hit a key or move the mouse, only when it stays idle for a period of time.

I have 1.1 ghz cpu
256mb sdram
60 gig harddrive--50% free space
8.2 gig hardrive--25% free space

Turn off hibernation and see if you experience any more random reboots under high activity.

I've never heard of this problem stemming from anything other than hardware failure or inadequacy, so if your power is lacking, or your RAM is going bad, that might be a cause.
