I've been meaning to upgrade my 4 year old pc for a while and decided to do it in 2 steps. Yesterday I replaced my motherboard, CPU, and RAM:
- AMD FX 4170 (4x @ 4.2ghz)
- Gigabyte 970A-D3 (Rev 1.4)
- 2x 4gb DDR3 1600mhz Gskill
Now it seems my graphics card is failing when trying to do anything moderately intensive. It gave me "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered" while running PCMark7, 3DMark Vantage, and Minecraft.
It also gave me this error message:
Here are the rest of my PC parts, the ones I haven't upgraded yet:
- 150gb WD HDD 7200rpm
- 1TB WD Green HDD
- 550wt atx power supply
- Nvidia 9600 GSO 384MB
Is there not enough power running to the card, or is my system just horribly bottle-necked to where the GPU can't keep up?
EDIT: I guess it takes over 24 hours to get your posts approved here. Yes, to answer your question GM Waters, I reinstalled my OS and all the necessary drivers.
