 Post subject: trying to get 320 with my cd rips

im trying to rip my cd collection to 320 with eac and the lame encoder. i have the latest versions of both. for some reason the highest bitrate i can get is around 222. any advice?

Chances are LAME defaulted to using a variable bitrate, which some MP3 programs will display something different than the maximum bitrate you wanted.

Personally I would leave it at VBR, as quality loss is minimal, if you can even hear it. Why use 320kbps for the silence at the end of the tracks?

Indeed. All my tracks are in Flac VBR. VBR is the way to go, why waste space?
