I just purchased the Linksys WRT54GS broadband router. Set up was easy and I enabled WPA. I logged on and everything worked fine for about half an hour. Then the card, a WPC54GS and router stopped communicating. A reboot restored the connection for about 10 minutes. Then it started cutting out again. Grrr. I called tech support. While on hold, it connected and settled down. The Linksys Tech support stock answer is switch to WEP. Their techs don't know. I was online for over 3 hours with no additional problems. Today...I was online about 2 hours and it started acting up again, cutting in and out. After it did it's thing for 10 minutes, it settled down and has been fine for an hour and a half. Anyone have an idea what is causing this? Driver and firmware are both the latest. The only other access point near me is on channel 6. I'm on channel 1. He is encrypted and shouldn't be causing interference.
I also have one of their Wireless B Routers. When I configured that for WPA, it connnected and disconnected every 30 seconds. I gave up on that one and went to WEP.
I can live with this the way it is but being anal, I'd like to fix it. LOL.
