I have a Gateway computer that I took the video card out of to use else ware. I purchased an EVGA GT520 from Newegg. In the install notes it said to uninstall old drivers and disable any on board graphics. I installed the new card, rebooted and … nothing just a black screen. I have a Viewsonic monitor VX2235wm that can switch between analog and digital so I make sure its on digital. Still nothing. The screen just says no analog signal. So far the only way I can get an image is to change the cable to the VGA cable. In device manager it says under monitor, Generic non-plug and play, under Display adapter it says VGA disabled but doesn't even show the new card at all. I tried installing drivers for both items and it says not product found associated with these drivers.
I'm stumped as to what I should do next. Any suggestions?

1. Did you change the monitor's input to force it to use DVI instead of auto-detect?
2. If there's anything considered a primary output, is the cable plugged into there?

Yes I forced it to change to DVI, through the on screen menu. On the back of the monitor are 2 outputs, one for DVI and one for VGA.
