Can anyone suggest what the best file recovery software is out there? I have a notebook that had all of its picture files deleted. I tried Recuva with and it did work, but too well. It served up all the picture files along with about five thousand pictures from internet browsing fone by two teenagers over one year. Any suggestions?

Recuva is pretty much the best. You should've looked through what it picked up and uncheck what you didn't want. Or you can just recover it all and re-delete what's not needed.

Besides that, If you wanted the file path resolution recovered, I doubt it's possible because that's handled by a table in the file system, which doesn't care about that file once it's "deleted"

The problem I had was that it gave me the 5000 files, but no way of sorting or checking them all to recover.

According to http://www.piriform.com/docs/recuva/usi ... your-files , you can individually select files for recovery. I'm guessing there's a Wizard and Advanced mode, and this is only available on the Advanced mode.

I looked, but could not find a way of selecting all 5000 files.
