When I first got the 13" MacBook Pro, it came with the default 4GB of RAM, but I decided to buy 3rd party RAM and upgrade it to 8GB.
http://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance ... B006EWUOL8I used it for about two months without any problems. Recently, I started playing CS:GO and within 5 minutes every time, the computer will freeze with artifacts on the screen. I ran CS:GO in OSX as well as Windows through bootcamp and it's the same for both. I also tried the Unigen Heaven Benchmark under OSX and the same thing happens.
I took out the 3rd party RAM, and replaced it with the Apple RAM, and the crashing stopped. So, I decided to test the Corsair RAM a stick at time to see if they would crash. I tested both Corsair sticks by themselves, and it did not crash. I also paired one Corsair stick with one Apple stick, for both Corsair sticks, and the crashes also did not happen. The crashes only happen when both Corsair sticks are inside the computer, and only during gaming.
Next, I decided to run memtest to test out the sticks. In Memtest 3.5b, I tested the Apple RAM for 2.5 hours and the Corsair RAM for 3 hours and counting, so far no errors.
Any suggestions? Thanks!
