okay i've had a network in my house for about 4 years now and i've finally come accross a problem that stumped me. i have two computers in my room, my main one, whos name is toidis and my other one named toidi_two and just for shits and giggles both are in the workgroup labled toidis_domain. they are both plugged into a switch, both get IPs from my dads comp(running ICS on windows 2000 pro) both can access the internet, and when i am on my main comp and i go to network places to try to access my 2nd comp it gives me an error that says Log in failure: the user has not been granted the requested log in type at this computer.
now when i am on my 2nd comp i can access anyother comp on my network easily, but i cant access my toidi_two from any comp on the network, even GFILanguard cant get in except to see what the open ports are. i can VNC into the computer if i want to, i just cant access it over the network, both my comps are running XP pro SP1a with full windows updates, both can access the internet too. i find it funny that the comp can access my comp with XP and my dads and brothers comps both with windows 2000 pro, but it cant be accessed by anyother comp on the network
thank you in advance
did you check the permissions on the shared folders?
