Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has had success using DriverAgent to update their systems. I recently added a video card and did some things and am having the balloons pop up when I start Windows up stating that I need to install drivers. I remembering using DriverAgent.com before and it seemed to work well, but that was about 4 years ago. I am installing a SATA slave drive and a different processor here in the next few days. Either way, would you guys have any better ideas or is $29.99 worth the convenience?

Just go to each individual component site and download the latest driver for your motherboard, video card, sound card, nic and any other device you have installed. It is very simple to do. Always load the chipset driver for the motherboard first! Then the rest. I don't trust Driver Agents at all.

When you install the new processor make sure you reset the bios or it may not boot at all. Make sure the processor you buy is on the QVL list for that motherboard or it won't boot.

Yes indeed driver update apps blow chunks, they just simply sux. Do exactly what Nasty suggests, then back-up your driver framework with Double Driver, save in Dropbox, SkyDrive or the cloud of your choosing and you'll always be ready for a driver disaster or firmware meltdown.
