When I first turn on my pc it says "ASUS motherboard" "press del to enter bios" for a split second and then it loads windows. Is this normal?
I thought if you were booting from the HDD first it wouldn't show "ASUS motherboard" at all and the verry first thing you would see is loading windows.
Is it booting from the HDD first?
Thnaks

This is probably just the fancy splash screen that motherboard manufacturers have been doing to hide the POST screen. So yes, you're still booting from the hard drive. If you want to see the actual POST screen instead of that, you can disable it in the BIOS options.

When you first start your computer it does not know where everything is. The BIOS does. It then directs the computer to the proper places to find your connected devices such as your boot drive.
The computer then starts up the boot drive and loads the operating system and the rest of your start up programs.

Heck, I see it twice as there is a provision for a custom splash screen as well as the ASUS screen and I haven't disabled the one ( if I can ). It is normal to see that after posting.
