When you create an Outlook Contact Group in Outlook 2010, then members of that group are sorted based on the "display as" attribute in their record. So by default, this means that they're sorted by "First Last (email)"

Is there a way to change this? I have a client with 560 contacts and now that she wants to organize them into groups they're showing up in the wrong sort order and she's losing her mind.

Note below how the contacts are sorted only by First Name...

Have you tried to right click on the group and choose properties and see if changes can be made there? I don't use this e-mail client but asked the question to see if it is that simple to change or just bump you to the top of the quay.
