Ive been getting hit with this Windows 7 Security Center virus back to back in recent weeks.
There's a nice removal article on Bleeping Computers which I follow to the letter and as far as I can tell Malware Bytes removes the virus successfully each time.
I even posted a HJT log (a few posts down in this same category) and it come up clean.

My question is, could I have infected remnants lying about which cause the virus to come back so easily? The sites we browse are not abnormal or warez sites at all.
Also during the removal process my Microsoft security essentials will go down and fail to start. This forces a uninstall/reinstall each time. SUPER ANNOYING!

Are you removing all of your System Restore points in the OS when you remove the malware?

Yes, just to ensure that your system does not get infected from those restore points. It's a common practice in the removal of malware.
