I did initially think that this was a power supply problem but I thought Seasonic made some of the best PSU's out there. On top of that it is gold certified. I did use the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator and the recommended wattage is 532W.

How power is entering my system is that it goes through a battery backup which my computer is plugged into. A lot of other things are plugged into that as well such as my 2 monitors, printer, and 5.1 speaker system. I did think that the battery backup couldn't supply enough power for all these things since it was made in 2007. So I plugged my computer directly into the wall outlet and the same problem happens. So I'm not really sure if there is a problem here... I could possibly buy a different power thing.

So to test what vig1lant3 was saying about the NB being too hot. I am running prime95 now and I did touch my NB heatsink and it is pretty hot, but not unbearably hot where I can't hold my finger there any longer. From the AI suite it says:
- CPU - 56C
- MB - 32C
- VCORE-1 - 63C
- VCORE-2 - 54C
- NB HT - 43C
- DRAM - 34C
- ...
I did the setting where it test the CPU only and not so much the RAM.

I will be trying the other things you guys suggest and if all else fails I will do an external board with just the basics.

probably a completely stupid question, but have you tried a different power cord?

god, I feel really stupid for asking it.

lol. I don't think so... I'm using the one that came with my PSU. I could always borrow one of my monitor's ones.

I would test out the out of box idea myself since I am leaning toward this being the MB issue either a floating ground or a short some where better yet what case do you have?

just to back up to the beginning here since the problem was at the beginning -- you did load your raid drivers before you loaded the operating system right? windows will not play nice if you don't. It sounds from your posts like you already would know this but I haven't seen it mentioned so just covering all the bases.

Yes I'm pretty sure I did. During installation Windows told me to load the drivers which I had to install via USB.

And I have been really busy lately so I haven't gotten around to testing those things.
