Hello everyone, i have an Dell Vostro 1400 laptop. i was trying to reset the bios password [ since i forgot it =\ ], by takeing out the CMOS Battery. so i took the battery out [ left it out for about 30-40 min ] then when i put it back it turn the laptop on i get BSOD [ blue screen of death ]. and my bios are still locked, and i cant reformat either, because my bios are set so i cant boot from CD/DVD

Any Help would Be really Great!!!

so what i do is ''Start windows Normally'' and i get the BSOD and it restarts my laptop

The other option is "use Windows repair", iv tried that several times, and it says something like "sorry windows cannot repair''

Hit F8 when starting the machine and go into safe mode, choose Last best known configuration and hit enter. If you get an option to choose a restore point, use it and choose a day before you were having problems.

RUN memtest86+on your ram, any errors replace the ram and get the hard drives diagnostic from your hard drives manufacture to check out the hard drive.

Hi. I don't know why you password protected the BiOS, but that is neither here nor there. You could reflash the BiOS from a flash drive either in Windows or most probably a DOS Flash utility. I would recommend going to http://www.bios-mods.com and they can help you set up a flash drive to do that. It might take some time getting an answer though. With some MOBOs you can get another BiOS chip and install it as they are eother 6 or 8 prom ROM chips.
