I have Acrobat 6 Pro installed on a machine running Windows 2000 Server. It always worked fine until one day last week it would "freeze" up at the startup window and never launch. I have tried to uninstall/reinstall with the same result. I have even installed the "free" reader and it does the exact same thing.

Has this happend to anyone else? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

check for the pop-under update dialog box.

if that doesn't exist, then try re-installing Acrobat Reader to see if it goes away.

Have you tried to run a "repair" using your win 2000 disk? You may have a bad file or two in your system files. Don't forget to go to microsoft for updates after the repair.

Nasty

Try re-installing the Microsoft Journal Viewer. I use Acrobat 6 on a lot of 2000 machines, and it breaks sometimes. Oddly enough, re-installing the Journal Viewer fixes it.

PS. I just noticed that you said Acrobat 6 Pro. I thought you meant Acrobat Reader. I'll leave this here anyway. It may help.
