Hey, all. Just to clarify, incase im not naming what im talking about correctly.

You know when you boot up windows xp, and lets say your video drivers aren't installed. Windows (at least on my system) tries to install it without asking me, and goes through a long process before I can actually start installing my FX card drivers.

Suffice it to say, I want to turn this off!! FX drivers come out (among other drivers) all the time, and I hate uninstalling them, rebooting, watching my windows try to install it, and then install it myself.

Thanks in advance =)

Also, I have windows XP Pro Incase you need to know.

just hit cancel the wizard and install your drivers like normal.

Turning it off would involve disabling Plug 'n Play most likely, so that is not a good idea.

You can install nVidia drivers right over the the Windows supplied ones...

I have done it dozens of times with no probs.

I would only uninstall when changing vid card manufacturers...

Windows will boot up with basic VGA drivers, and from there CANCEL the ADD HARDWARE WIZARD and then RUN THE NVIDIA DRIVER EXE.

this is a very simple process people. I do it all the time.
