When I play games, especially DESERT COMBAT
I keep getting these light rays, almost like glitches in the graphics.
They show up as perspective rays that come out of an object.
Also, the info on the bottom of the screen gets pixelated and flashy.
Anyone else encounter these problems?

PS card not o/c'd.

The first thing to do is undo your overclocking of the system and see if the graphic problem clears up. Many video cards will go haywire if the system is overclocked.

I don't know what softmoded drivers are. I would go with whatever Sapphire has posted on their website and not on the ATI site, the manufacture knows best how to write drivers for his/her card. What utility did you use to uninstall your old drivers with? If you look in the ATI/Sapphire folder on the root of your drive you will find a utility called AtiCimUn, run this program to totally uninstall everthing to do with your videocard then reboot and run the new drivers. I use this utility everytime I load new drivers and have never had any trouble with any new driver since using the utility.

Have you check to see if there are any updates for the game causing problems? I bought WarCarft 3 about 6 months after it came out and checked the website and there was an update available all the way back from the first month of release.

Are the drivers for your video card up to date?
