I may get this and see how much better is than my zalman heatpipe. It probably isnt much better, but I like the look better.

I've had my eye on that as well in passing - if you get it, post some results/opinions :)

No he wasn't. The Zalman heatpipe is a silent video card cooler as well.

Just wanted to clarify what we were cooling here, since he made no mention other than his link...honestly, money would be better spent in improving case cooling, since you already have a really good VGA cooler in the Zalman...it's only gonna cool down to what the case temp is anyway...

<-------- Duh. I misread your post.

Yeah, can't say that I'd make a swap like that myself, but for my own selfish reasons, I am interested in his experience if he goes through w/ it :)

All my other cooling is in check. This would be a boredom buy, and because I like the look better.

LOL, some people have money to burn I guess...30 bucks for a VGA cooler?...dayum, I'd put 20 bucks more with it and get another 256MB of RAM and get a performance difference I'd notice... :D

I like the VGA Silencer. It pushes the hot air out of my case. I had the Zalman HP and Slim Fan. Artic Cooling VGA Silencer is working better for me. There will be a rev. 4 coming for the X800's.

I doubt adding 256MB to my already 1GB would make a noticeable difference :P Although I could save up quite a bit more and upgrade it from Dual Bartons to Dual Opterons :) That would be nice lol.

Yep, an Artic VGA Silencer is going to cool better than a zalman heatpipe and is cheaper to boot. I bought mine for about $15(from SVA I think), though I think they go for about $20. The fan is fairly quiet even at the high speed settings.
