I was wondering if anybody took an lgpa 550, 3.4 ghz to 4.0 ghz? If so, what case and cooling did you use? Thanks...

I know SlimySquid did. I believe he used an Abit board (Abit's 865 LGA board) and water cooling (DangerDen RBX modified for LGA, I think).

yeah i think its "doable." just get some 2500-3500rpm fans in there. and make sure its in a good part of the house. u probably could run it stable at 4ghz, but if not porbably 3.8 would be the lowest u could get stable. with good RAM though. get some good crucial/corsair memory.

its alll good bro...

i made a mistake.."doable"

and you went in and quoted it and what not... so I just handed you the favor back...

im gonna put 2 vantec stealths in it and one on the cpu.. u think with that setup i can hit 4? btw... whats the best heatsink out there for an lgpa775?

dont forget... il also have 4 other fans besides the ones just listen including a 120mm.

thanks a lot....

i hope 4.0 with this setup is in fact "doable"

ok well if mpc can put a 3.6 to 4.0, then whats another 200 mhz, buy a good cooler, and good ram, and have some fun, or just buy a 3.6 and do it. However the performance increase is not alot.

consider the fact that maximum pc also had the "greatest" parts which adds heat.

consider a 3.6 as not released yet, the supplies have run thin. and dont go by what people on newegg say. some of the reviewers didnt even buy the product and some are just full of shit. there are some good reviews, and its good when people list their system specs for compability but dont go quoting a newegg review on overclocking.
