How exactly did you try overclocking it? Have you tried pushing the fsb in small increments, or did you go for the gusto on your first attempt?

What RAM are you running? If you're not able to budge the fsb at all, your RAM could very well be holding you back. You can try upping the CPU and/or DDR voltages, but like the fsb, don't attempt any drastic increases.

Good luck, but you probably won't get very far. Neither the KT266A nor the Palaminos were particularly amazing overclockers (compared to the TbredB and the Axia Thunderbirds). My Gigabyte 7DX was refuse to boot about a 137Mhz FSB, so I gave up on overclocking on that CPU.

IMO, small overclocks aren't worth it.

You really should find out what stepping and monitor your temps very closely. If its a palamino you can get up around 1.8 or so with Extremely good air cooling and a good amount of vcore. I got my 1.4 pally up to 1.87 on a 761/686b board. Not bad but not NEARLY as good as the tbred-b, barton/thorton. Wouldnt mind having an athlon mp to play around with right now. Still haning with my 1.73 tbred-b@2.3 all day.

Yeah this chip does seem to be pretty unfriendly when it comes to overclocking, but practice makes perfect. I'll keep trying and post with any new results.
