So i am in the works of building a new gaming PC. I want to be able to do a variety of things on this CPU from Microsoft word to running minecraft to running borderlands and such... Much of the hardware here is built for overclocking the CPU and will try to do so. i have not included cooling systems in here yet as most of them are compatible with any type of PC build.

Motherboard - EVGA Z87 FTW = $199.99

First, welcome to the forums! I see I'm a little bit late in responding, but hopefully you'll still find my comments useful:

  • With the introduction of Devil's Canyon, at the same price as the 4770k mind you, I think this would be a better alternative. NOW! keep in mind if you go with the 4790K, you should use the Z97 motherboards. The motherboard you selected (a Z87) may be compatible with the newer CPU but only after a BIOS update (which you can't do if the motherboard/CPU won't work until after the update)
  • The PSU is WAY overkill. Even with OC'ing, you're still overboard. A decent 500 - 600w PSU will be more than enough and will save you some money which you can use elsewhere, perhaps on a better GPU or maybe to get an SSD. I haven't used eVGA but it's probably a good brand; you could also try Corsair or Seasonic
  • If you can, add an SSD for your primary drive. I would recommend 256GB or more. It will vastly improve your day-to-day activities

Hope this helps.
