Hello again, I'm hoping someone can provide some insight. I am attempting to find out what GPU or GPU's would provide the best experience gaming at 2560x1600. I am not opposed to crossfire or SLI if needed. The few benchmarks I've been able to find (I am at work and a lot of the sites are blocked) seem to indicate that GTX770's in SLI would work well, but that's a $800 investment minimum. Would there be a less expensive alternative?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on what games you're playing and how much do you care about fastest FPS possible. I have a 2560x1440 monitor and get by with a single GTX 670 just fine.

I'm looking to the games that are being released over the next year or so. Witcher 3, Elder Scrolls Online, maybe a few others. I am pretty picky about FPS not dropping below 30FPS.

I'd wait a while, the GeForce 800 series is supposed to be due this year.

Good point. I guess I'm in no huge rush.

Ok, I have a follow-up question then. What would you recomend for gaming at 1080?

GTX 760 if you're penny pinching.

Great. That's exactly the direction I was leaning.

If this is a short term thing, I'd recommend something in the $150 range. Those will play most games made last year and before at 1080p on high/max settings above 30FPS.

Dang, you must be psychic. It is a short term build. I'm going to use it while my main machine is being shipped (45-60 day process), with the intention of selling it afterword’s. I had planned to put a new, high end GPU in it and swap them when my main computer arrives, but I think you've swayed me into waiting on the next-gen 800 series to make an upgrade.
