My GA-F2A85X-D3H doesn't have a floppy drive connector. The Syba sd-ada50016 IDE to SATA adapter would work if I used an IDE to FDD adapter (which probably has a controller on it to convert it to IDE), but these are $15. Internal FDD drives like the MPF920 I have barely sell well enough to break even with shipping and fees. Like maybe $5 gross.

USB floppy drives are external only and run at least $9; ones that are internal aren't USB--they have media card readers that are USB, but turn that thing around and you'll be staring at 34 pins of incompatibility. Once external drives are freed from their useless ugly enclosures, a bay adapter is needed because they aren't much larger than the floppies they hold. Good stinking luck finding a bracket that fits the laptop-ish size format. It's probably best to wait to buy an external USB floppy drive until you absolutely can't run the program without it, and hide it in a hole when you don't. Get a copy of the game off of eBay so you have a license, then run an emulated version with a ROM of the game downloaded from your local el WarezHousen.

The only reason why I see you need an internal floppy drive is if you're running an OS older than Windows 98...

To which I ask, why aren't you VMing it?

That's what I said; run an emulator with a ROM of the game and you won't have to have a USB floppy drive at all. I started writing the post with asking about whether I ought to try to find an adapter, but then it became more apparent that floppy drives have no business being in a modern full tower.
