My goal is to build a PC that kicks butt when it comes to gaming (I would like to play pretty much anything that comes at me ex. BF4). I'm a first timer, but I've got a list made up and I would like some insight on the parts I selected. Also my budget is still up in the air at the moment (this build is ~$1600) and I haven't picked out an OS or monitor yet, so if there's a way keep this build at about the price it's at now with a good OS and nice monitor included that would be awesome. If there are better options/deals out there that would decrease the overall price of this build please let me know as well.

Just some two cents.

Motherboard
I would find something cheaper, like in the $120-$150 range. Take a look at the motherboard's features, are you going to use them all? The motherboard is something that doesn't really perform any better the more expensive you go. The more expensive ones just have nice-to-have features that can usually be done through alternate methods.

PSU
If this is a single video card system and will be, then you can drop the wattage down to 600W or so.

CPU
Are you going to overclock the CPU? If not, you can shave a few by going with the non-K part

RAM
8GB is enough really. Unless you have something memory intensive you use like video editing or multiple VMs or something.

Everything that latios said.

Any reason why you want that case? It's probably $120. There are nice cases in the $80 range such as Fractal Define R4. I have a nice big Antec 302 which was around $50 and does well.

Also, you can save around a $100 or so by going with a 120gb SSD instead of the 256GB. You can put your OS on it and still have enough space for a few games and programs.

With all these downgrades, you probably save $250. Put that in for a good monitor and the OS.
