Building my first custom pc because Rome total war 2 is coming out and i want a pc that will run this flawlessly as well as other upcoming games. I don't think i will be buying a console ever again after the recent xbox announcements. As a lifetime microsoft user they have lost my business, although the ps4 was intriguing my future in gaming is on a pc.

That said i need some serious help on my first attempt here is a list of parts I want to buy but i dont know what "extras" i will need such as SATA cords or really anything else, but i am determined to do this. any help is much appreciated.

1. NZXT technologies Phantom 630 case.
2. Intel core i7-4770k 3.5 ghz 8mb cache
3. Gigabyte Radeon HD 7870 2gb GDDR5 3.0 graphics card
4. Corsair Vengeance 8 gb ram 1600 MHz
5. Asus Gryphon 787 DDR3 1600 LGA 1150 mobo or Asus Maximus VI hero DDR3 1600 1150
6. Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD SATA 6gb/s NCQ 64 mb cache 3.5 in internal bare drive
7. Crucial m4 128 gb 2.5 in SATA 6gb/s solid state drive
8. Corsair professional series HX 850 Watt ATX/EPS modular 80 plus gold
9. Cooler master Hyper 212 evo- cpu cooler with 120mm PWM fan

I really need to know if these are compatible as well as any other equipment/tools i need to build this rig.

Thank you, NeoNerd13

If you took out the Core i7-4770K and replaced it with a Core i5-4670K or a 4570, you'd have enough money to bump up the graphics card to the next tier. You also don't need a 850W PSU, 600W-650W will do you just fine.

Thank you i had read some posts that said a better graphics card wouldnt do me much good if i didnt have the cpu to utilize it. I was also trying to futureproof this comp so i didnt have to upgrade again for a while.

Any other recommendations on the other equipment i would need? Cords? Misc?

You really dont need that high of a PSU. A quality 500 to 600 watt will do you good.

Ah, the whole "CPU bottleneck" scare. To put things into perspective, you basically have to go down to like a $100 processor before it starts slowing down a top-tier video card.

The only other thing I would switch is the SSD to a Samsung 840, but that's just me

For video card I run a Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. Great card, runs cool and quiet.

Will you have enough power? Yes.
Do you need more fans? The case comes with plenty.
