hey everyone,

its been a while since I built my last computer and here is my proposed build:

Fractal Design Define R4
Intel Core I5-4670K
Gigabyte Z87X-UD5H
HD 7970
Samsung 840 Pro 256gb
Seagate 3TB HD
Corsair HX750W
(insert Brand here) 8/16 GB DDR3-1600

everything look ok? should I wait for AMD's 8/9xxxx series? I can recycle my old 5850 for now

Looks good. Head-to-head, the 7970 destroys the 5850. The new GPUs from AMD aren't slated until end of Q3 (early Q4)...at the earliest. So, waiting isn't unreasonable...but you don't want to get caught up in the "waiting game" (well...the nVidia 8XX series is due soon so maybe I should wait for that). Ultimately, it's your call.

Be sure to post some pics when you're done.

Hope this helps.

Thanks btdog

I can get a HD7970 for 360 but I think i will wait for the new gpus from AMD for now as my 5850 is still doing ok as long as i turn down some of the settings. I currently play mostly CoH2, dota, tf2, DoW, d3, gw2, and some other steam games at 1920x1200. ill try to take some pics too as i already bought some of the parts mainly the case, CPU, MOBO and PSU.
I just read about the new Samsung 840 EVO ssd's so i might be switching out the PRO for it later on when a review for it comes out
I forgot to add in a CPU cooler as well and ill be getting the Corsair H100i

This will be simple and to the point. Get an i5-3570k. For the same or less money you can get better overclocking, higher onboard GPU speed. Granted the performance #'s favor the 4670k, the oc'ing ability simply outweighs it. But if you are dead set on the 4670k get it, I would just prefer the 3570k.

Thanks for the input Athebasca

I have already bought the cpu, mobo, case and psu and its already set up in my case so i dont think i will be returning it
what do you guys think about the Cooler Master Seidon 240M compared to the Corsair H100i? I can get the Seidon for around $70 after rebate while the H100i will be around $100

Assuming you are overclocking your CPU i would get the Corsair, but that's just personal preference. Also make sure your case can support the size of the fans and has adequate mounting space.

I think I will go with the H100i and after some research the H100i should fit no problem on the top of the case

I think i will purchase the rest of the items in a few weeks and post some pics
