Hello i am building a server for storing files and running Microsoft exchange for a small business. It may do more in the future. Not this is my first server build ever. What do you guys think? Any advice you could give me?

MOBO: ASUS P8C WS ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1155 Intel C216 DDR3 1600

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820239231
Price: 76.00

Hard drive: Seagate Constellation 2 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 6Gb/s SATA - 7200 rpm - 64 MB Buffer - Secure Erase - Hot Pluggable
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6822178323
Note: I will be getting 4 of these
Price per Unit: 132.00

Note: I don't know much about raid cards so i need some help with that. IDK if that megaraid one is any good or not.

When it comes to RAID cards I'm not a huge fan of LSi, they're not bad it's just that there are better cards out there. You might want to look at the 3Ware 9650SE-8LPML or the Areca ARC-1222 both cards are better hardware wise and tend to be better supported. I personally have a 3Ware 9550SE-8SXLP in my home server and have been quite happy with how it's performed. RAID 6 should be fine for your uses.

Asus makes good motherboards but when I build servers I tend to use either Tyan or Supermicro boards. The one you've chosen looks decent but you might also want to consider the Supermicro X9SAE-V

Other than those two items it looks like you have a pretty solid build.

OK thanks for your advice. I do think that SuperMicro board you linked would serve me better than the one i have selected currently. Ill look into the raid controllers you linked. Thank you :)
