So I'm thinking of buying a full new rig mainly for gaming purposes, but also for everyday PC tasks, film watching, and so on.
I'd like to be able to play latest games such as Bioshock Infinite on max settings at 1080p, also hopefully the rig would easily keep up with next gen games coming up with the new consoles. Here's what I've got at the moment:
CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core £168.68
CPU Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing £24.49
Motherboard ASRock Z77 Pro3 ATX LGA1155 £76.20
Memory Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 £54.39
Storage OCZ Synapse Cache 64GB 2.5" SSD £39.99
Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM £43.19
Video Card Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XT 2GB £218.67
Case Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower £47.98
Power Supply Corsair 600W ATX12V £60.57
Optical Drive Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer £13.04
Operating System Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit) £67.19
Monitor ViewSonic VX2370Smh-LED 23.0" £129.94
Keyboard Logitech K120 £9.99
Mouse Gigabyte GM-M5050 Wired Optical £1.32
So I'm not sure if it's worth it spending a bit more in the Mobo and CPU to go with the new Haswell, or if it's worth spending the extra money to get a Radeon 7950 HD 3GB?
I know I could save a bit by leaving the SSD out but I'm keen on having Win8 nice and snappy as well as Chrome installed on it. Hopefully 64GB is enough for that, right?
Finally, I've heard great stuff on this monitor, but I'm open to cheaper suggestions too
Also, I've never OC but I might like to try it some time, is it feasible on this build?
Also if I want to crossfire and add a second GPU some time later, would that work here?
Thanks a lot!
