I am new to building and creating PCs, and i want to learn how. So my first build i want to make a PC that is capable of running all most all indie games, most FPS Shooters, and most steam games, with the least amount of lag, around 500$-600$. I also want to be able to upgrade, and customize, so a good spacious case. With good airflow. I am looking for someone to help me choose parts wisely. Anyone willing to help, would be fantastic! Thanks!

P.S. I know i am asking a lot, for a little, but it has to be good, and not to pricey.

Well, we're going to need to know a bit more before suggesting anything. So if you'd answer these questions it'd be a big help:

1) Do you have a Windows 7/8 license you can use for this system?
2) Is there any hardware from your previous/current system that can be transferred over or that you plan on transferring over?
3) Do you already have a keyboard,mouse,monitor?
4) What stores (Microcenter, Fry's, etc.) do you have nearby or are you planning on purchasing online?

good pc for that budget wont happen. you need to increase the budget.
an i5 3570k is 200 bucks, or a little less.
you can look at this but that's still double what you want to spend. most of your money needs to go to the cpu, gpu and mb.

Well, putting a Core i5 in the machine is actually overdoing it. It buys you a longer period of time before you absolutely need more power (although with Intel's <10% performance improvement increments...)

As far as I know, you could get away with something decent with a higher end Pentium Dual Core and a Radeon HD7850/GeForce GTX 660. And while it's a little old, you can look at http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... ec2012.png

I can tell you a GTX 650 will play pretty much every game on at least high @ 720p resolutions just fine.

Tom's Hardware is doing their builder's marathon. Day 1 had a Mini-ITX system for $650 or so if you're wiling to stretch your budget.
