Never had this happen before. Install HD, all is well never a problem. I installed two Seagate Barracuddas and neither show up in My Computer.

Oddly enough, if I right click Compuer, Properties then Device Manager they appear. But they don't show up in My Computer they didn't come with any Driver CD it's like it's unbelievable.

How can such a highly rated hard drive be such a disaster????

You're supposed to format the drives first in Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management.

Most new internal hard drives either OEM or retail boxed, are shipped completely blank, no partitions, no formatting, nothing. So you have to partition and format them. Now as Latios described how to get into Disk Management, you can then simply right click on the new drives where they say Unallocated, then in the menu that pops up select New Partition. Make the disks Primary partitions, then as the wizard walks you through just go with most defauls like NTFS etc. Just don't go with a quick format, do it the long way and let it do it's thing, and once the formatting is done, they will show up in My Computer.

Also should note you have to format any partition larger than 2TB as a GPT partition.
