You have mismatched mobo/CPU. You need an Intel Mobo for the Intel CPU. A z77 socket motherboard can be used with the core i7. You might want to play around with builds on pcpartpicker.com. They have a compability checker to make sure everything fits.

LatiosXT will probably be around later with a better build. Time for me to hit the bed.

I never suggest builds... Well, usually :P If it's in August, I believe Intel's Haswell chips are out by then. If you need to plan something now... A Core i5-3750K and a Z77 board should do.

Check out the new hardware and mobo setup for the i7s. You've got a new bridge, no front side bus (much better!), and your RAM is now triple-bridged, which means you need 3 sticks of ram (3x 2gb or 3x 4gb), no more (4 sticks hurts your throughput), no less (2 sticks hurts your throughput), if you're looking at min/max. Many build websites don't seem to account for the triple-bridge, it's a new chipset feature. You'll of course want your maxed out 555mb/sec r/w 128gb ssd to boot your game maps as getting in early means getting a better tactical position (hawken). You can keep your OS (I prefer Win8pro) on a nice 1TB drive with 64mb cache and just stick your cached files on the ssd, there are notes about how to improve your OS speed without sticking all of your bloatware on the precious real estate.

pickup your 690 or TITAN card and go crazy trying to find a game you can't play on max, although by then maybe BF4 will be out...
