If you're a gamer w/ a 24" display or lower, I'd hold off. I know the early 1156 products seem out of date but they're just fine for gaming. The GTX470 is still a fine card as well.

If you're debating a new entire build soon however, then indeed look into something like the GTX 660Ti's as they'll be part of that build anyway and just have that part out of the way. I've been seeing the Asus TI-DC2O-2GD5 hitting $275 here and there with instant rebates and just missed them. And if you're into Hawken, World of Tanks, and PlanetSide 2, they're free with that card at newegg. ATI has some deals on much better bundled games too that make the purchase of a 79xx more pleasant to swallow. (Far Cry3 w/ some SSD's as well, so watch for those too)

However, I don't see you hurting until you fire up Crysis3 or the new 3Dmark; The later won't even take a run at Firestrike with a 560Ti which has myself looking for deals on GTX 6xx cards.

Part of me feels that Crysis may not be able to keep up with its meme... but we'll see. As for FireStrike, I don't think you can run the extreme setting unless you're packing at least two GTX 670s (I have two 560 Tis, it was the first time I saw anything measured in seconds per frame). But funny how that physics test runs just fine.

ya its funny cause like you said my gtx470 is still playing everything really well.
It just seems like it shouldnt be :) ! think i just have this mentality that I need to upgrade cause its been a few years

I have actually been looking at a 27 inch monitor although the resolution will be the same as my 24 so that shouldnt matter.

Mayabe Ill go the 660 route in the mean time if i really have to

thanks for the help
