Hi, I'm about to order up the parts for my new mid-tier gaming build, and I'd like some help deciding between a few options, and I'd like to know if I'll encounter any heat issues with the higher tier options and my chosen case/cooling.

The cheaper build
Case:Fractal Design Define R4 Titanium Grey Silent ATX Mid Tower Case (reckon I'd add another 140mm fan in the front) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352022

PSU:Still sticking with my old Thermaltake Toughpower 850W W0131RU

MB: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131819

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I53570K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504

SSD:SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD256BW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147193

HDD:Western Digital WD Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

RAM:G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231445

Video Card: MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5 GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127697

Cooler:COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO RR-212E-20PK-R2 Continuous Direct Contact 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099

The slightly more expensive build
Everything the same except:

Case: Corsair Obsidian Series 550D Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139012

Video Card: EVGA 04G-P4-3673-KR GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130824

RAM: Patriot Intel Extreme Master, Limited Edition 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220708

So...If I go with the more expensive build, will that video card build up too much heat in one of these silent cases with air cooling? I suppose I could go AIO liquid, just haven't used em before. I wouldn't OC the CPU past 4.5 Ghz, that's for sure. Frankly, I suspect the R4 is a better case, I just prefer the aesthetics of the corsair.

I don't know if I even really need 16 GB of mem if this is gaming, and I'm not sure there would really be much benefit going over DDR3 1600.

If I have a bottleneck on these builds, where is it?

You won't need 16GB of RAM, but the GTX 670 would probably be a bit more louder than the GTX 660 because the 660 has two fans. See if MSI makes a Twin Forzer version of the GTX 670.

As for bottlenecks: it's always the GPU.
