Looking at this build. My budget is around 700. Is anything overkill? I want to use it for gaming. Skyrim, shooters. Open world games. Civilization etc. I have a 1080p tv....

i5-3470 ivy bridge 199.00

Zotac61101-10mGeForceGTX650ti $149

ASRock 970 extreme4 $99

LG Blu Ray drive $49.99

OCZ ModXStream pro 600Watt $79.99

Xion case 39.00

Corsair XMS3 8GB RAM $46.00

If I am missing anything let me know. I will need the peripherals. Mouse, Keyboard..Suggestions? What else would I need?

Also, I am not sure how to do the link thing so those^ may be broken links.

A few things:
  • You've selected an Intel CPU, but have an AMD motherboard - they will not work together
  • You case is designed for small motherboards (MicroATX, MiniITX), but the motherboard you've listed is a full ATX - it will not fit
  • Regarding the HDMI question - I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think sound will transfer through the video card so I think you'll need to hook up the sound separate from the HDMI. Maybe someone else can address that question
  • The motherboard has built-in sound so you don't need a separate sound card, per se, but depending on what type of hook-up is required to get sound to your TV (or whatever you're using for sound), a sound card may be needed

Hope this helps.

Do you think This case and Power supply would Suffice for the GPU CPU?

Logisys case and 480w power supply 28.00

As for the motherboard, would this fit into the case?

MSI Z77A ATX Intel Z77 94.00

Ok so I take it that, GPUs dont output sound, the motherboard does?

If you're running HDMI out from the GPU, then chances are there's audio with it. So no, you don't need a sound card.

Ok I am having a hard time finding a right case. on PC part picker it tells me my motherboard has onboard 3.0 USB ports, but the case does not. Can you give me a good Motherboard/Case combo?

Really, you should search for your own case - after all, you're the one that's going to be staring at it. If you look around Newegg, they usually list if it has USB 3.0 in the brief summary at the top or in the details section. In the meantime, you can check this Motherboard:
NZXT Phantom 410
You will need to buy a separate PSU (rule of thumb: PSUs included with a case are generally not very reliable)

Hope this helps.

This does help. I wasnt sure exactly how to find a case that would fit my Motherboard. And that link you posted is a case, not a motherboard lol
