this has an asrock mobo but a budy of mine told me that msi mobos are more reliable.should i choose an msi mobo instead?
Asrock used to be known for their small form factor mobos (mATX & mini ITX). More recently, their standard ATX mobos have been quite good. MSI makes decent mobos, too, but never considered a top notch manufacturer. Recently, MSI has started this new
MPower series where MSI will perform a burn-in test on 100% of the boards in this series to ensure they will work. This provides some added assurance that when you receive the board, it's been tested and should work. The trade-off is that these boards cost a little bit more than the non-tested counterparts.
Personally, if you find a board with decent reviews on Amazon or newegg (>70% 4 & 5s), and it has the functions you want, then I don't think it matters if it is ASRock or MSI.
Hope this helps.
