I'm turning a P3 into a home media server and I'm wondering what Antec PSU I should buy. Aside from two optical drives there will be at least 4 hard drives and maybe 5 in there. Right now I have a 300 watt Antec that came with my case but I'm sure that's probably not enough. Is a 550 watt PSU too much and should I get a smaller one? How is TruePower compared to TruPower II and NeoPower? And does the PSU use the whole 480 or 550 watts even when not being used to full potential? Thanks for the help and recommendations!

TruepowerII is what you want. however, if the PC is going to be a part of your home theatre i'd suggest the antec phantom since its fanless and thus silent. you dont want the dramatic silence of your movies to be reuined by a PSU fan.

How about the size of TruePowerII? Which one should I get?

And of them will be ok. They range from 380W-550W. 380W is more then enough for your needs. However i'm assuming you may want to use this power supply in another build once the P3 shows its age. I bought a 550W truepower not too long ago just so i know i can use it for my next computer. Spend as much as you feel ok spending. If you really dont want to keep it or are hard pressed for cash you'll be OK with 380W.

How about RAID cards? Are there good ones cheap that I should be considering or should I just do Windows XP RAID? All I plan on doing is mirroring.

hrm, on an old P3 i'd say get a cheap card. Save yourself some CPU cycles. Any card will do.
